Academician of Academia Sinica, Professor at the Institute of Astronomy, National Central University, and Chair of the Taiwan Space Union (TSU). An internationally renowned planetary scientist, his research covers cometary physics, the origin of the solar system and planetary formation, solar-system plasma physics, and planetary atmospheres and exospheres. He has contributed to major international space missions, was among the early proponents of the Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn, and participated in the OSIRIS camera team of ESA’s Rosetta comet mission.
